A scavenger's meal

That looks like too many beans for me! :-) ... The fish looks delicious - I love fish.

But what is "Dirty Rice"?

Dirty Rice is a spicy, Cajun-flavored rice. I think it's a Cajun term to distinguish it from just plain rice. I always tend to fill up on the veggies. ;-)
Oh well that sounds nice. I'm not much of a rice person - had too much of it during a poor childhood. Eating all your veggies must be why you look so terrific!
Looks delicious.....made even better by the whiskey and diet coke!

That looks like less than half of what would be my regular meal.
Sorry for sounding rude, but I have to agree that you "did the uncouth thing."
Diet Coke?!!
Whiskey with anything other than ice / water / soda is sacrilege ;o)

Aw, c'mon...your a physician. You gotta know that whiskey works more quickly on an emptier stomach. In fact, I have this down to a science. If you finish 1.5 half-n-halfs (1/2 whiskey, 1/2 whatever made in a 12-oz glass) in seventeen minutes prior to eating, you can maintain a healthy level of "smooth" for the rest of the night, providing you don't eat even one more grain of rice than is shown above.

And then there's the calorie control aspect. I'm a post-menopausal 52-year-old broad (and I use that term loosely). I can't be spending all of my calories on food! ;-)

I just did the metric math on your 'science.' That works out to about 180ml of whiskey, which is the equivalent of 3 stiff drinks. Its really no great wonder that..

you can maintain a healthy level of "smooth" for the rest of the night

LOL.

And I agree with you on the calorie control aspect. I'm overweight and I don't watch what I eat, especially when I'm drinking, which according to my wife, is way too often.
