Friggin' Wine in a Box...

Comments

I am laughing at you.

Hard.

Mountain Dew? Seriously?

But no, really, I guess, live and learn, as they say. BWAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA boxed Merlot. The person who said there's no such thing as a bad Merlot didn't know it comes in a box.

I don't think whiskey is bad for you, anyway, just maybe not in large amounts.
*wipes tears* You've obviously never had a grown computer nerd son camping out in your basement or you'd know who the Dew was for. ;-) Mine's the 2-liter of Diet Coke on the bottom shelf. Gotta watch those calories when you're suckin' down the whiskey, you know...lol.
No, I never have. And I never have bought that for my not-quite-grown kids! I have one who's probably a future computer nerd son, to be sure, though!

Right now I'm having Maker's Mark over cubes with two cherries and a splash of Pellegrino. Nose turned up, you see, in faux haughtiness.

But I figure there's a time and place for boxes of fermentation. I guess. ;-)

Heeee! That's what I love about you. No mercy. Whiskey and cherries, eh? Mmmm. Sounds good. Hell...anything else sounds good right now, lol.

[this is good]
The cherries mellow the whiskey a bit, and the whiskey makes the cherries taste delicious. I don't care that it's girly, because it's good. :-)
LMAO!! This was so funny. I haven't had cask wine since about the same time you last had it. The other day I was in a bottle shop here and some teenage girls were pooling their coins to be able to afford one (legal age 18 here) - and it took me back to that time. I was pleased to see that you normally enjoy Aussie wines!
Ah Hahahahaah... all those gals asking questions probably went home with a box o' wine.

Confession here people - I keep a cask of white in the fridge. I am a one glass wonder and so a cask hits the spot on those bad days. It is also great for having on hand for cooking - especially that damn mushroom rissotto! Everyone thinks there is a "secret" to wine, but I think it is just finding what you like...

The only time I would worry about having a cask is if you were packing it in your lunch bag to take to work for lunch refreshment!

Time for a new job?

Well, hey...I'm still drawing from the bag 'o wine in a box. Taste is an acquired thing. I didn't like whiskey the first time I tasted it, either. So far it's been a ride, but I don't think I'll do it again. I drink too much to abuse myself that way........lol.

I'm culturally ignorant about wines. We don't have them here. The local liquor shops, which are run by the government (don't ask - check this post) have a grand total of ONE red wine. Nasty ulcer-inducing stuff - called Golconda.
I stick to the heavy stuff myself.
Golconda? Sounds like a medicine! :-)

Emjay: Golconda is actually a place in south India. Famous for its

historic fort and diamond mines. Check this Wikipedia article.

Thanks that was interesting - but then I was tempted to google golkonda wine and found this below...

As a young desi thrust abruptly into American culture in the mid-1970s, I knew very little about liquor and alcohol. Coming from a conservative middle-class household, my knowledge of alcoholic drinks was limited to Chivas Regal, Johnnie Walker and generic rum. Drinking scotch and soda was a mark of elitism when I was growing up in the small town of Belgaum. My knowledge of wines was confined to that syrupy liquid called Golconda wine. It was the only kind available in our town in those days.
